SAIL Functions Include:

  • Distribution of funding and support - to individual language schools, and ensuring use aligns with funder’s guidelines.
  • Provision of language instruction facilities - for language programs.
  • Public Advocacy for Languages - Demonstrating the value of language to stakeholders. Nurturing relationships with stakeholders.
  • Teacher Professional Development - Developing skilled teachers and instructors.
  • School/Administrative Development - Providing supports to start and maintain a school, including developmental support for administration.
  • Community Building and Networking - Providing a forum for sharing information. Being a central hub for language throughout the province.
  • Public Promotion of Language Schools - Creating public awareness of the value of language/multilingualism. Learning Resource Development – Assisting with curriculum development for language schools.
  • School Regulation Compliance Monitoring - Ensuring language schools are in compliance with regulations and standards.

 

Our Mandate


The Saskatchewan Association of International Languages Inc. (SAIL) works with teachers, volunteers, and cultural communities to promote and develop the teaching and learning of International languages.  It is an umbrella organization supporting language schools and multilingual organizations throughout the province.  SAIL was established in 1985.

 
 

Mission


The Mission of the Saskatchewan Association of International Languages is to preserve and promote languages/culture in Saskatchewan through awareness and educational and cultural programs for a vibrant and diverse Saskatchewan .

 
 

Vision


The Saskatchewan Association of International Languages is the catalyst to sustain language/culture to the benefit of all Saskatchewan residents. 


 


Aims & Objectives

The aims and objectives of the organization shall be:

  • SAIL assists with the preservation, development, and advancement of education in global languages/culture of Saskatchewan’s residents;
  • SAIL will assist Saskatchewan educational organizations with their international language programs;
  • SAIL to foster, initiate, and assist the development and operation of global language programs;
  • SAIL is a consultative body in the area of international languages;
  • SAIL is a leader by direct investment in Saskatchewan's youth through all its programs and services;
  • SAIL facilitates the development and operation of international language initiatives and projects.
